AgroLink™

|
|
|
AgroLink™'s advanced wireless ad-hoc mesh network system provides
foolproof and inexpensive solutions to typical farm monitoring problems.
Wireless locating systems are not new, but the technology is constantly
evolving. Using satellite or cell signals, WiFi networks, or RFID to transmit
sensor values can do the job, but at what cost? The
AgroLink™ management program is inexpensive, easy to use and
extremely flexible.

AgroLink™'s wireless "tags" transmit data without satellite or cell
signals, telephone or electrical wires, or other external energy sources. The independent
tags have a replaceable battery with a life expectancy of up to 15 years. Utilizing a
unique and superior antenna, our proprietary tags are capable of communicating in the worst
of weather conditions. Although small, tags are actually microprocessing transceivers,
capable of storing and transmitting data at high speeds. The tags can interface
with any PDA, computer or sensor, thus enabling a wide range of applications.

Mesh Networks - Independent, Self Healing, Expandable
|
AgroLink™’s tags communicate directly with each other, using a unique
wireless network topology and design. Most wireless networks employed in offices and Wi-Fi
"hotspots", such as at Starbucks and elsewhere, connect computers using a "Star" or "Hub and Spokes"
topology. It is an efficient arrangement, where the hub acts as a traffic dispatcher to
direct the data flow from an originating spoke to its destination spoke. It works well
except when the hub fails, and then the whole network goes down.
AgroLink™’s tags automatically form a self-organizing, self-healing multi-hop
network potentially covering up to thousands of acres, passing information from one node (tag)
to the next. This eliminates the need for a large number of expensive reader devices that an
RFID approach would require for covering the same area.
