SensorLink™ WLAN Sensor Networks
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
|
|
SensorLink™
has developed a low-cost, multi-functional building automation system (BAS), that provides
expansive monitoring of operational equipment in virutally any kind of building, without
cell or satellite signal, or any external power source.
Monitoring equipment performance in real time is important to ensure that all equipment is
operating properly, and to warn the operator when it is not so that preventative measures
may be taken to reduce harm to the system.
|
No Cell or Satellite Signal
|
Monitoring romote equipment that may be located on the roof of a building, in the basement,
parking lot, or grounds is time consuming and man-power intensive in facilities that do not
have some sort of wireless system that relays information back to the operator.
SensorLink™'s wireless technology makes this process easy by uploading
sensor data without the physical requirement.

|
BAS Sensor Applications:
|
sensor's can be used for, but are not limited to, the following;
|
|
Electricity Use & Demographics |
Water Use & Demographics |
Mechanical Equipment Monitoring |
|
HVAC/R Monitoring |
Generator/Motor Monitoring |
Maintenance Monitoring |
|
Early Maintenance Warnings |
Security Access Management |
Irrigation Monitoring |
A variety of sensors can be hooked up to SensorLink's wireless tags, transmitting
data to a central BAS monitoring software, and uploading it into the operator's computer
or hand held device (PTA). System information is then available globablly to anyone with
system access.
Readings can be obtained at any time interval, or set up to indicate a problem based on
user-defined parameters, such as when a piece of equipment gets too hot, etc. This allows for
instant notification when a problem occurs, or if the operator simply wishes to review the
operating environment at any given time.
|
|
Any analog or digital, wired or wireless sensor typically used to monitor BAS equipment can be
incorporated into the
SensorLink system, thus providing a hands-free monitoring environment
that not only saves time and energy, but does so automatically and efficiently.
Tags can also be used for other common functions, such as locating assets or people
(who also have tags), communicating, activating motors, security cameras, etc.
Peak or Off-Hour demographics can be easily programmed into the wireless tags.
